Our Pre-Masters in Law programme is designed for graduates wanting to progress onto an LLM or other law-related master’s degree in the UK. The course focuses on various aspects of the UK legal system including contract law, tort law, legal English, and criminal law.
During the course you will be given one-to-one assistance in choosing and applying to law related Masters courses at UK universities.
There is a strong emphasis on developing the learning and research skills required for studying law at postgraduate level in the UK. You will learn how to evaluate, analyse, and apply information, and to appreciate the relationship between theories and the real world of legal practice.
In addition to academic subjects, you will study skills modules which will prepare you for your postgraduate legal studies.
The Research Skills module focuses on referencing, avoiding plagiarism, research methodologies and how to approach case studies. Communication Skills focuses on how to approach different employment situations such as delivering presentations and succeeding at interviews.
Academic English specifically focuses on helping you achieve the IELTS score you need to meet university entry requirements.
External speakers and field trips
Teaching is supplemented by external expert speakers plus trips to universities and places of specific interest such as the Courts of Justice and the chambers of legal firms.
