IFG is committed to ensuring that students are active partners in shaping their educational experience. Your views, feedback and ideas play a vital role in improving teaching, learning, assessment and student support. This policy sets out how IFG supports meaningful student representation and ensures that student voices are heard and acted upon at course, committee and institutional level, in line with sector expectations and Office for Students (OfS) guidance.
Through student representatives and the Student Committee, students are involved in IFG’s quality assurance and decision-making processes. Student representatives work collaboratively with staff to raise issues, share feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement. IFG values open dialogue and, as a small institution, combines formal representation structures with accessible, day-to-day communication so that students can raise concerns or suggestions at any time.
This policy also explains how student representatives are selected, how feedback is collected and reviewed, and how IFG closes the feedback loop by letting students know what action has been taken in response to their views (“you said, we did”). IFG aims to ensure that student representation is inclusive, transparent and impactful, and that all students feel confident to have their voices heard.
