IFG Suicide Prevention and Response Policy and Procedure - International Foundation Group (IFG)
Loading...

IFG is committed to supporting student mental health, wellbeing and safety, and to creating a culture where it is normal to talk about mental health and to seek help early. This policy sets out how IFG works to reduce the risk of suicide, identify and support students who may be at risk, and respond sensitively and effectively if a serious incident occurs.

IFG’s approach is based on prevention, early intervention and compassionate support. IFG is committed to strengthening awareness and capability across the community through training and ongoing discussion, including guidance for staff on recognising indicators of risk and knowing how to raise concerns. The policy outlines reporting and escalation routes to help ensure students can be supported and signposted to appropriate external help, including 24/7 services such as Togetherall.

This policy also explains what IFG will do following a serious incident, including how communication is handled sensitively, how students and staff who are affected are supported, and how learning from incidents informs continuous improvement. The focus throughout is on student welfare, proportionality, and care, ensuring that no student feels alone in seeking support.
